Dr. Comer has been a part of ProHealth Partners since it's inception in 1995 as a Primary Care Physician. He began working in Long Beach as a Resident of Medicine through U.C. Irvine at Long Beach Veteran's Hospital and Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. Dr. Comer took over Dr. Crivaro’s practice in 1998 and relocated the practice to the Hillside Medical Building across the street from Long Beach Memorial Medical Center in 2000. He is currently on Staff at LBMMC and St. Mary's Medical Center. Dr. Comer served two1/2 consecutive terms as Chief of Medicine, taking on the role in 2005 and was elected in 2006 and 2008. He maintains an active role in Long Beach Memorial Medical Center’s leadership currently serving as Member at Large for the Medical Executive Committee. Dr. Comer is also a Board member on the Memorial Medical Center Foundation.

Dr. Comer was the first ProHealth physician and Argus client to complete all requirements for Meaningful Use for EMR on the web-based Ingenix CareTracker EMR system. Dr. Comer was also the first ProHealth physician to receive the full $18,000 in MediCare EMR Stimulus Funds for 2011.

Personal: He enjoys Pegi, his wife, as his office manager. She also shares a position in Argus Medical Management as an EMR training and implementation specialist. Dr. Comer and Pegi have been together for 36 years stretching back to their days at Glendale Community College when they both worked at the Glendale Community Hospital, located in Glendale California, as an orderly and nursing assistant on the swing shift. Dr. Comer has 2 children, a 20 year old son attending Golden West City College working with digital media and preparing to transfer to a California University next year and a 19 year old daughter who attends the University of California at Santa Barbara studying dance & psychology as a double major.

His Hobbies: Dr. Comer has 2 hobbies: being a spectator of racing sports, and cultivating exotic plants.

Little Known Facts about Dr. Comer: Dr. Comer worked in the kitchen in Glendale Memorial Hospital while in high school. He became an orderly at Glendale Community Hospital during junior college. He also worked in the pathology lab at St Joseph's Medical Center during college. Dr. Comer also studied anthropology in Peru, prior to entering Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara.
